Call for Applications: SKOMRAHI 2025

International Student Theatre Festival

Skopje, November 2025

Dear Students and Professors,

It is with great joy that we invite you to submit your applications for the 33rd edition of SKOMRAHI – International Meetings of Academies and Faculties for Dramatic Arts, taking place the first week of November 2025 in Skopje, hosted by the Faculty of Dramatic Arts – Skopje (FDA). The festival will unfold across our faculty and various cultural venues throughout the city.

Since its founding in 1988, SKOMRAHI has grown from a platform for students of regional drama academies into an international celebration of theatre, creativity, and exchange—welcoming participants from all corners of the world. SKOMRAHI honors the rich diversity of artistic expression and offers a space where future theatre-makers meet, perform, experiment, and reflect.

This year, we draw inspiration from the words of the writer and activist Arundhati Roy:
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.” to radically imagine together the another world.

Because this one that we’re living in is expired and it is falling apart - politically, economically, environmentally.

But instead of falling into despair, let ‘s play, dance, share what we have, let’s laugh in the face of despair. Let’s embrace joy, connection, and community - as they are all revolutionary.

We are the ones who will take back our future.

Let’s build something new, something better.

Let’s prove that another world is on her way!

SKOMRAHI 2025 is inviting you to imagine that world with us.

We welcome performances and workshops that question, reveal, resist and reimagine — works that deepen our understanding of the world we live in today so we can envision alternative futures.
